This is a centralized, hub-based leasing role. You're not sitting at a property front desk greeting walk-ins. You're working remotely or from a central office, handling a high volume of inbound and outbound leads across multiple Cortland communities in the market.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

Your day runs on lead volume. Expect to manage 40 to 50 leads daily through RealPage's OneSite platform, working calls, emails, and texts from prospects who are at various stages of their apartment search. Your job is to qualify those leads, match each prospect to the right Cortland community based on their needs, and hand off warm, appointment-ready prospects to the onsite leasing teams.

You need to know Cortland's communities well. Pricing, floor plans, amenities, and local positioning. Prospects will ask detailed questions, and you can't afford to stumble. Cortland provides training and site visits to build that knowledge, but you have to put in the work to retain it.

This is a sales role. Outbound activity is a real expectation, not an afterthought. If you're more comfortable waiting for inbound traffic than initiating contact, this isn't the right fit.

What You Bring

  • At least two years in customer service, with a clear sales component
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, bilingual candidates welcome
  • Comfort with OneSite (RealPage); familiarity with L2L is a plus
  • Fast, accurate typing and solid computer skills overall
  • Ability to sustain energy and quality across a high volume of daily contacts

Where This Role Can Take You

Hub leasing roles are relatively new in multifamily, and associates who excel here build a skill set that translates well. You'll develop deep knowledge of how leads move through a leasing funnel, how to handle objections at scale, and how to coordinate across multiple properties simultaneously. That cross-community exposure is something most traditional leasing consultants don't get. Strong performers here often move into senior leasing, leasing manager, or training roles within larger operators like Cortland.
