Part-Time Leasing Consultant
PeakMade Real EstateA prospect just submitted an inquiry at 9 PM. By the time they tour Saturday morning, they've already heard from two competitors. How you handle that 18-hour window is what separates a signed lease from a lost lead.
PeakMade Real Estate is hiring a part-time Leasing Consultant at their Austin community. This is a front-line sales role, and it's structured that way intentionally. You're the first real human impression most prospects get, and the work asks you to hold that standard across every touchpoint, from the first phone call to the moment someone hands over a deposit.
What the Work Actually Looks Like
Your core job is converting leads into signed leases. That means working phone, email, and in-person traffic with equal energy, running tours that actually identify what a prospect needs rather than just walking the floor plan, and following up in a way that feels personal rather than scripted. You'll track your own leads in a CRM (Yardi, Entrata, RealPage, or similar) and you're expected to keep that data clean and current. Market knowledge matters here too: pricing, availability, and what competitors are doing all factor into how you guide a prospect toward a decision.
Beyond leasing, you'll support the operational rhythm of the office. That includes collecting deposits, processing lease paperwork accurately, maintaining model readiness, and helping during turn season when move-outs and move-ins stack up quickly. It's not glamorous work, but it directly affects how prospects experience the community on tour days.
Who Fits Here
- At least one year of sales or leasing experience with a track record of hitting conversion targets
- Real comfort with CRM systems and consistent multi-touch follow-up habits (calls, texts, emails, not just one and done)
- Availability to work weekends and during peak leasing hours
- A genuine ability to read people quickly and adjust your approach by prospect
The strongest candidates in roles like this tend to be the ones who treat follow-up as a discipline rather than a chore. Conversion rates in leasing often hinge less on the tour itself and more on what happens in the 24 to 72 hours after. If you've built systems for that, even informal ones, you'll move faster here than someone who relies on natural charisma alone.
This role is commission-eligible, and PeakMade offers housing discounts, a 401(k) match, wellness programs, and development opportunities within their growing portfolio. Austin's rental market stays competitive, which means strong leasing consultants here get real reps at a high volume and tend to build a resume that translates well into full-time leasing, assistant manager, or even property manager tracks down the road.
