Asset Living runs a large third-party management portfolio across multifamily, single-family rentals, student housing, build-to-rent, and affordable housing. This Operations Specialist role sits at the corporate level, supporting senior managers who oversee that portfolio. The position can be based in Atlanta, Charlotte, or Jacksonville.

Day to day, the work splits across a few different lanes. You'll pull and review financial data on properties, including historical income and expense detail, and help prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting packages. You'll gather rent comps and market trend data from internal tools and third-party sources. You'll also handle client-facing communication, helping stakeholders understand how specific assets are performing. On top of that, there's a real administrative component: coordinating travel, fielding resident calls that come in at the corporate level, and supporting internal projects from start to finish.

The analytical side of this role is real. You're not just formatting reports. You're reviewing T-12 data, identifying trends, and presenting information in a way that helps senior leadership make decisions. Strong Excel skills matter here, and familiarity with property management platforms like MRI or One-Site will help you move faster. A background in finance, real estate, or economics is a plus, but the emphasis is on how you think and how you handle competing deadlines.

What separates a strong candidate from an average one in a role like this is the combination of financial literacy and organizational discipline. Plenty of people can run a spreadsheet. Fewer can manage a full reporting cycle across a large portfolio, stay on top of multiple projects simultaneously, and communicate clearly with both internal teams and external clients. If you've supported a regional or area manager in property management before, you already know how fast priorities shift. That experience translates directly here.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred, ideally in finance, real estate, or economics
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with MRI, One-Site, or similar property management software is a plus
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines without losing accuracy or attention to detail
  • Comfortable with approximately 10% travel for property visits or internal meetings

This is a corporate support role with real exposure to portfolio-level operations across multiple asset classes. For someone early in their property management career, the visibility here into financials, client relationships, and cross-functional projects builds a foundation that can move toward asset management, regional operations, or portfolio analysis over time.
