Maintenance Technician at The Pavilions Apartments
Cottonwood ResidentialThe Pavilions is a Cottonwood Residential community in Albuquerque, and this maintenance technician role covers the full spectrum of day-to-day service work that keeps a residential property running. Plumbing, electrical, general carpentry, unit turns, work order completion , the job moves fast and no two days look the same.
Physically, this role demands real stamina. You'll be on your feet most of the shift, climbing ladders, working in tight mechanical spaces, and moving materials up to 50 lbs regularly. Albuquerque's climate adds its own layer: high desert summers push HVAC systems hard, and strong troubleshooting skills there will serve you well. EPA Type II or Universal certification and CPO certification are both worth having , they make you more useful from day one and tend to open doors to lead and service manager roles down the line.
On-call rotation is part of the position. After-hours emergencies happen, and you'll respond to them with support from the Service Manager. That part of the job is honest work , residents count on fast response when something goes wrong at 10 p.m., and how you handle those moments is a big part of what separates a solid technician from a great one.
Cottonwood operates as an early adopter of Self-Guided Tours, which signals a company that invests in how residents experience the property from first contact through residency. That matters for maintenance because it sets a service standard you're expected to match every time you enter a home.
