Maintenance Technician - $1,000 Sign on Bonus! Olympus at Daybreak
Olympus PropertyMaintenance technicians sit at the center of resident satisfaction more than almost any other role in property management. When a work order gets closed fast and correctly, occupancy holds, renewals improve, and the service team's reputation compounds over time. Olympus Property is adding a Maintenance Technician to their team at Olympus at Daybreak in South Jordan, UT, and the combination of a structured schedule, a solid pay range, and a $1,000 sign-on bonus makes this worth a close look if you're building your career in residential maintenance.
What the Work Actually Looks Like
This is a full-time position running Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with availability required for emergency calls outside those hours. You'll work under the Lead Maintenance Technician, taking on a full range of service requests across the community: plumbing repairs and fixture replacements, electrical work, appliance repair (refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, ovens, microwaves), HVAC preventative maintenance including filter changes and coil cleaning, lock changes and door hardware, carpentry, and painting. You'll also contribute to grounds upkeep and common area maintenance, keep the shop organized and inventory tracked, and log your work through a software system.
The scope here is broad by design. Technicians who get comfortable handling a wide range of trade work in a residential setting build a skill profile that translates well to Lead Tech and Service Manager roles down the line. Each trade you deepen at this level is one less gap you'll need to close before moving up.
What Olympus Is Looking For
- At least 2 years of maintenance experience in a commercial, residential, or apartment setting
- Working knowledge of HVAC systems; an EPA or HVAC license is a plus
- Hands-on familiarity with plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, and general carpentry
- Comfort operating hand tools and power tools across trade categories
- Availability for on-call emergency response as needed
Olympus Property has earned recognition as a Top Employer by the National Apartment Association three consecutive years (2023, 2024, 2025). The benefits package includes medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer matching, tuition reimbursement, pet insurance, short and long-term disability, life insurance, paid time off, and an apartment rental allowance. There's also a sabbatical program and a formal career pathing structure, which matters if you're thinking about where this role leads. Pay runs $21 to $23 per hour depending on experience, plus monthly and quarterly bonus eligibility on top of the sign-on.
The technicians who distinguish themselves in roles like this tend to be the ones who close work orders completely on the first visit rather than leaving punch list items for follow-up. Residents notice thoroughness. So does a Lead Tech deciding who gets more responsibility.
