Lobby Ambassador - Madrone
Action Property ManagementWhat This Role Actually Is
A Lobby Ambassador at a luxury high-rise HOA community is part concierge, part building operations point-of-contact, and part first impression for every resident and guest who walks through the door. At Madrone in San Francisco, Action Property Management runs a full-service, white-glove experience for homeowners, and the evening shift Ambassador is a big part of what makes that work. This is an evening-heavy role (Thursday through Monday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM), which means you'll regularly handle the things that come up after business hours when the management office is closed and residents need someone reliable to step in.
The Day-to-Day
Most of your shift will be spent in the lobby, greeting residents and guests, monitoring access, and responding to requests as they come in. That sounds straightforward, but in a high-rise HOA environment, the requests vary widely. One hour you might be coordinating a package situation or reaching out to building maintenance about an elevator concern. The next, you're helping a resident who just locked themselves out or fielding a delivery that came at an inconvenient time. The service standard here is genuinely high. Madrone is a luxury community, and the residents expect responsiveness and a professional manner, not a front desk employee who treats them like a number.
Evening shifts in high-rise buildings also carry some honest realities worth knowing. You'll encounter occasional after-hours emergencies. You'll deal with residents who are frustrated by building issues that aren't within your direct control. Keeping your composure, knowing what you can handle yourself, and knowing when to escalate are all real job skills here, not just interview talking points.
What You'll Bring
- Genuine comfort with face-to-face service and a warm, professional demeanor with all types of residents and guests
- Reliability on a consistent schedule, including weekends
- Ability to stay attentive and proactive during quieter stretches of a shift, not just when things are busy
- Experience in hospitality, luxury residential, or a similar service environment is a real advantage
- Good judgment when handling situations that require discretion or quick thinking
Compensation is $28.00 to $29.00 per hour. Action Property Management has been managing HOA communities since 1984 and currently serves over 300 communities across the Western U.S. For people who build strong service reputations in front-facing roles like this one, HOA management companies do promote from within into property management coordinator and community manager tracks over time.
