Roving leasing roles sit at an interesting intersection of sales ability and operational flexibility. CloudTen Residential is bringing on a temporary full-time Leasing Professional to rotate across properties in the Berkeley Heights area, stepping in where leasing traffic and staffing needs demand coverage. The pay runs $25 to $28 per hour depending on experience, with leasing bonuses available at assigned sites, and the position qualifies for CloudTen's standard benefit plans despite being temporary.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

On any given day, you might be prepping an apartment for a showing (light cleaning, basic make-ready checks), walking a prospective resident through the community, or working through a stack of rental applications in the management system. CloudTen uses OneSite and Entrata, so fluency with at least one of those platforms keeps you productive from day one rather than spending your first week figuring out the software.

Because this is a roving position, you'll carry the full leasing cycle with you from site to site: phone inquiries, in-person tours, objection handling, securing commitments and deposits, and completing move-in paperwork. You'll also keep an eye on community conditions during site visits and flag any deficiencies to the on-site manager. A valid driver's license is required since you'll be transporting marketing materials and moving between locations.

  • Tour and lease apartments across multiple properties, handling the full process from prospect contact through executed lease
  • Process rental applications accurately and in compliance with Fair Housing requirements
  • Assist with move-in and move-out inspections, with attention to consistent documentation
  • Set up and transport signage and marketing collateral as needed at assigned sites
  • Accept and route maintenance requests professionally when on-site
  • Review property database entries for accuracy and flag advertising discrepancies
  • Support market survey preparation when assigned

What CloudTen Is Looking For

One to two years of leasing experience is preferred, and lease-up experience carries real weight here. Lease-up environments demand a faster pace and sharper sales instincts than stabilized communities, and a roving professional who can walk into a high-traffic situation and close deals without a long ramp-up period is genuinely valuable. Prior sales experience (two years or more) rounds out the profile they're building.

Strong candidates tend to be self-directed, organized, and comfortable adapting quickly. When you're rotating across sites, you don't have the luxury of leaning on institutional familiarity with a single property. You need to absorb new floor plans, community features, and pricing quickly, then present them confidently. That adaptability is what separates candidates who thrive in roving roles from those who prefer the consistency of a single-site position.

The Bigger Picture

CloudTen's portfolio spans a wide range of product types, including hotel-to-residential conversions, high-rise lease-ups, and value-add repositioning. For a leasing professional, that kind of exposure across property types builds a resume that travels well. Even in a temporary capacity, working across multiple communities gives you practical insight into how different assets are positioned, priced, and operated. That cross-site experience often accelerates the path toward a community manager role for candidates who are organized and growth-oriented.
