Leasing Consultant - Marc San Marcos
MG PropertiesMG Properties has been acquiring, developing, and managing apartment communities across the Western U.S. for more than 30 years. Their portfolio spans multiple states, and they promote heavily from within, which means a leasing role here has a real path forward for the right person.
The open position is at Marc, a residential community in San Marcos, CA. The job centers on converting traffic into signed leases. You'll greet prospects, qualify applicants, walk units, and shepherd people through the leasing process from first contact to move-in day. That last part matters: you'll coordinate with maintenance to make sure new residents aren't moving into a unit with an open punch list.
Administrative work is part of the job too. Rental files need to stay current, lease documents need to be accurate, and data entry has to be done right. When residents have complaints or maintenance concerns, you're often the first point of contact. Rent collection support falls under this role as well.
Weekend availability is required.
What They're Looking For
- At least one year of property management experience (preferred)
- Strong sales instincts and genuine customer service skills
- Professional communication, written and verbal
- Comfort with leasing software and data entry
- Ability to work weekends
Pay runs $22 to $24 per hour depending on experience, plus monthly and quarterly bonuses and company profit sharing. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401k with employer match, paid holidays, sick time, PTO, and rental discounts.
San Marcos sits in North San Diego County, a market with steady renter demand driven by Cal State San Marcos, a growing life sciences employment base, and limited new supply relative to other parts of the county. Occupancy pressure is real, which means leasing skills here get tested consistently, and a consultant who can close efficiently becomes valuable quickly.
Leasing is where most property management careers start, and at a company that promotes from within, strong performers here move toward assistant manager and property manager roles. If that trajectory interests you, this kind of role builds the foundation: sales, compliance, resident relations, and administrative accuracy all at once.
