Leasing Consultant

Cortland's Leasing Hub Associate role sits in a corner of multifamily that most people outside the industry don't fully understand. This position operates centralized, off-site from any individual community. Instead of walking a prospect through a model unit, you're working a lead queue, handling inbound and outbound calls, emails, and texts, and converting that traffic into appointments for Cortland's on-site leasing teams. It's a volume role with a sales spine.

On a typical day, you're working through 40 to 50 leads sourced from RealPage's OneSite platform, qualifying prospects, matching them to the right community based on their needs, and generating scheduled tours. You carry deep knowledge of multiple Cortland properties at once, which means understanding pricing, concessions, amenities, and availability across a portfolio rather than a single address. That breadth is what makes this role a genuinely different kind of leasing experience.

The skill set that compounds here is worth naming directly. High-volume outbound sales sharpens your ability to qualify quickly and communicate value under pressure. Working across multiple communities builds portfolio fluency that traditional single-site leasing rarely develops. And because you're feeding the on-site teams, you develop a clear-eyed view of how traffic converts, where leads stall, and what messaging actually moves prospects to tour. Those are the instincts that translate well into leasing manager roles, regional marketing positions, or even revenue management support work down the road.

Cortland is a vertically integrated operator, one of the ten largest multifamily owners and managers in the country, with in-house design, construction, and operations. That structure means internal mobility is real, and the exposure you get to how a large portfolio runs from a centralized function tends to open doors that a single-community leasing role doesn't.

The strongest candidates for this role tend to have genuine comfort with outbound volume. Customer service experience alone isn't enough if it's been mostly reactive. What separates a good fit from a great one is someone who can hold a conversation with a prospect, read what they actually need, and connect that need to a specific community with enough conviction to get a commitment on the calendar.

What Cortland is looking for:
  • Two or more years of customer service experience, with a preference for direct sales
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English; bilingual fluency is a plus
  • Comfort with high outbound contact volume in a structured, metrics-driven environment
  • Proficiency in OneSite (RealPage); familiarity with L2L is preferred
  • Solid typing and computer skills to manage simultaneous lead channels efficiently

This role is based in Sandy Springs, GA, which puts you close to Cortland's Atlanta headquarters. For someone who wants to grow inside a large, professionally managed organization, that proximity matters.
