Leasing Consultant (Westgate on Third)

Leasing is a conversion game. Traffic comes in, your job is to turn it into signed leases, and every interaction between a prospect's first call and their move-in date runs through you. At Westgate on Third in Bloomington, BAM Companies is looking for a Leasing Consultant who can work that full cycle well: fast follow-up, confident tours, clean paperwork, and residents who feel taken care of before they ever get their keys.

What the Day-to-Day Looks Like

You're the first point of contact for prospective residents reaching out by phone, email, or walk-in. The expectation is quick response times and genuine conversation, not a scripted pitch. You'll tour units, explain pricing and features, and walk prospects through the application and deposit process all the way to lease execution. Between tours, you're maintaining show units and the leasing office so everything stays sharp, logging activity in the CRM, and supporting the property manager on marketing pushes, outreach events, and community programming.

Weekends are part of the schedule here. Bloomington is a university market, and leasing activity doesn't pause for a Monday-Friday workweek. A reliable vehicle is required since outreach and off-site activity come with the role.

What BAM Is Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college experience is a plus
• Background in leasing, retail, hospitality, or any sales-adjacent role
• Strong follow-up habits and genuine comfort talking to people through a major decision
• Basic CRM and computer proficiency
• Organized, reliable, and able to juggle multiple prospects at different stages of the funnel
• NALP credentials, bilingual skills, or prior real estate interest are preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits

Base pay runs $17 to $19 per hour depending on experience, location, and overall fit. On top of that, leasing commissions add performance-based income tied directly to signed leases. BAM also offers 15.5 paid holidays starting on day one, PTO that builds after 90 days and grows again at your one-year mark, and a full insurance package covering medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and pet coverage.
