Leasing Consultant- Russellville Commons
MG PropertiesWhat You'll Actually Do
Leasing at Russellville Commons means you're the first real impression a prospective resident gets of the property. You'll greet prospects, qualify applicants, walk units, and guide new residents from application through lease signing. Behind the scenes, that translates to keeping rental files current, entering data accurately, and making sure every move-in is coordinated with the maintenance team so the apartment is genuinely ready when a new resident arrives. You'll also stay in regular contact with current residents, handling complaints and following up on rent payments when needed. The administrative side of the role matters here: monthly paperwork, organized files, and clean data entry aren't afterthoughts.
MG Properties has operated across the Western U.S. for over three decades, with a focus on acquisition, development, rehab, and management. That scale means there's real infrastructure behind you, and the company has a stated track record of promoting from within.
What You Bring
- At least one year of property management or leasing experience (preferred)
- Genuine sales instincts paired with strong customer service follow-through
- Comfort with leasing software and data entry, since occupancy reporting depends on accurate input
- Professional communication skills in both in-person and written contexts
- The organizational discipline to keep files, lease documents, and administrative tasks in order across a busy leasing cycle
Where This Role Can Take You
A leasing consultant position done well builds a specific and transferable skill set: you learn to read traffic patterns, understand what drives concessions decisions, and develop a feel for occupancy trends before they show up in a report. Those instincts are exactly what assistant managers and property managers rely on daily. Strong leasing consultants who also demonstrate comfort with the administrative side of the role, resident relations, and lease compliance tend to move into assistant manager roles faster than those who treat leasing as purely a sales function.
Portland's multifamily market has seen meaningful rent pressure over the past few years, which means leasing teams are expected to do more than just show units. Understanding traffic sources, following up consistently, and converting leads efficiently all matter more in a tighter market. If you're early in your property management career, this environment sharpens those skills in ways that translate directly to any future leasing or management role.
Benefits include monthly and quarterly bonuses, profit sharing, a 401(k) with employer match, medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid holidays, PTO, and rental discounts.
