Leasing Consultant - Neon Local
MG PropertiesNeon Local is a MG Properties community in Denver, and this leasing consultant role sits at the front end of everything: traffic, tours, applications, and move-ins. MG Properties has spent over three decades acquiring, developing, and managing apartment communities across the Western U.S., and they have a real track record of promoting from within. That context matters when you're thinking about where a leasing role like this can take you.
What You'll Actually Do
Day-to-day, you're the first person a prospective resident meets. You'll greet and qualify applicants, guide them through the community, and move quickly from showing units to preparing leases and walking people through signing. Once a lease is signed, you coordinate with the maintenance team to make sure move-ins go smoothly. That handoff between leasing and maintenance is where a lot of resident impressions get made, and handling it well is a skill that compounds across your career.
Beyond the leasing cycle, you'll keep rental files current, enter data accurately into property management software, and help close out monthly administrative tasks. You'll also field resident concerns directly, including maintenance follow-ups, complaints, and rent payment issues. The role touches occupancy, resident retention, and compliance all at once.
What You Bring
- At least one year of property management experience (preferred)
- Strong sales instincts and genuine customer service skills
- Organized and accurate with paperwork and data entry
- Professional communication, both with prospective residents and existing ones
- Comfort working in a team environment and coordinating across departments
Where This Role Leads
Leasing consultant is one of the best entry points in property management because you build fluency in the full resident lifecycle, from first contact through occupancy. The skills you develop here, qualifying applicants, understanding concessions and market positioning, managing delinquency conversations, running a tight move-in process, translate directly into assistant manager and property manager roles. Companies like MG Properties that promote internally will often look at how a leasing consultant handles administrative accuracy and resident relationships before moving someone into an ops-focused role. If you can drive traffic, close leases, and keep files clean, you're building the foundation for a real career track. Pay runs $22 to $24 per hour, with monthly and quarterly bonuses plus company profit sharing. Note that this position is anticipated to close in October 2026.
