Leasing Consultant

A prospect walks in on a Saturday morning without a tour scheduled. You're the first person they meet. What happens next shapes whether they sign a lease or walk out and call your competitor down the street.

That's the core of this role at Monte Viejo, an Olympus Property community in Phoenix. As a Leasing Consultant, you're the first impression and the closing conversation. You handle tours, explain floor plan options, prepare lease paperwork, and get new residents ready for move-in day. You also respond to current resident concerns, keep your traffic data current in the resident database, and help plan community events that keep people engaged after they've already signed.

What the Job Actually Involves

Day-to-day, you're doing a mix of sales, customer service, and light administration. You'll show units, follow up on leads, close leases, and process the paperwork that goes with each new move-in. You'll also visit local businesses and locators to drive traffic to the property. Resident events are part of the job too, including some after-hours availability each month.

The schedule is full-time, Monday through Friday with rotating hours between 9 AM and 6 PM, and both weekend days are required. Hours can shift depending on the property's needs.

What Olympus Is Looking For

  • At least one year of apartment leasing experience
  • Comfort with the full leasing cycle: from greeting a walk-in to getting keys in a resident's hand
  • Strong follow-through on leads and a genuine interest in helping people find the right home
  • Ability to work weekends consistently and attend occasional evening events
  • Familiarity with entering and maintaining data in a resident management system

Pay starts between $19 and $22 per hour depending on experience, and the role comes with monthly leasing commissions and renewal bonuses. Olympus also offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer matching, tuition reimbursement, an apartment rental allowance, and pet insurance, among other benefits.

One thing worth knowing: strong leasing consultants here tend to separate themselves not by being the most talkative, but by being the most prepared. Knowing the product cold, understanding your comp set in the Phoenix market, and following up consistently after tours are what actually move the needle on occupancy. Consultants who treat every Saturday walk-in with the same energy as a scheduled appointment tend to be the ones earning the better commission checks.

Olympus has been named a Top Employer by the National Apartment Association three consecutive years running (2023, 2024, and 2025). They're a third-party management company with a defined career pathing program, so this role can realistically lead to an Assistant Manager position for someone who performs well and wants to move into operations.
