Leasing Consultant - Madamore Apartments
Ackermann GroupA prospective resident walks in on a Tuesday afternoon, a little uncertain, maybe comparing three communities across the city. You're the first person they meet, and the impression you leave matters more than any floor plan or amenity photo ever could. That's the core of this role.
The Position at Madamore Apartments
Ackermann Group, a Midwest real estate and property management company with roots going back to 1938, is adding a full-time Leasing Consultant to the team at Madamore Apartments, a 312-unit community in Cincinnati. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 9 to 6, with rotating Saturdays from 9 to 4.
Day to day, you'll be the primary point of contact for both prospective and current residents. That means handling inbound inquiries by phone, email, and in person, converting those conversations into tours, and guiding interested prospects through to a signed lease. You'll complete all the administrative work that comes with leasing: guest cards, lease preparation, move-in documentation, fair housing compliance records. Accuracy and timeliness matter here because errors in that paperwork have real consequences.
The role extends beyond the leasing office. You'll walk units and community common areas regularly to confirm they're showing well, handle small corrective tasks yourself, and loop in the maintenance team when something needs their attention. Being comfortable on your feet, observant about your surroundings, and communicative with colleagues you don't always share a desk with makes a real difference at a community this size.
Ackermann expects this person to own the resident experience, not just the leasing funnel. That includes anticipating issues before residents escalate them, documenting service requests clearly, and participating in resident events and community outreach. If you've worked in a customer-facing role and found that you genuinely enjoy problem-solving for people, this structure will feel natural.
What Makes a Strong Candidate Here
Qualified applicants will have:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Prior customer service experience (required)
- Leasing or sales experience (strongly preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and property management software; Yardi Voyager, Rent Café, and CRM experience are a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly
- Comfort working in a team environment alongside a Community Manager and maintenance staff
The candidates who tend to stand out in roles like this aren't necessarily the ones with the most leasing experience. They're the ones who track their follow-ups without being reminded, notice when a model unit needs attention before a tour, and communicate problems to management clearly rather than letting things drift. CRM discipline and genuine curiosity about what a prospect actually needs tend to separate good leasing consultants from average ones at the occupancy level.
Ackermann offers competitive hourly pay plus commission on new and renewed leases, health benefits, 401k with company match, paid time off (including your birthday), an employee rent discount at any Ackermann community, and career development support. Cincinnati's multifamily market is competitive enough that a consultant who learns to read local traffic patterns and adjust their pitch accordingly builds skills that transfer well across any future property they work at.
