Bilingual Screening & Applications Specialist - Sandy Springs, GA
CortlandCortland runs one of the largest multifamily portfolios in the country, and their centralized contact center in Sandy Springs handles application volume that most on-site teams never see. This Bilingual Screening and Applications Specialist role sits inside that contact center, focused on one specific stretch of the leasing cycle: the period between application submission and move-in.
What You'll Actually Do
Your day revolves around applications. You'll review them for completeness, verify supporting documentation, and keep applicants informed as they move through the process. A good portion of your time is spent on inbound communication, calls, emails, and chat, answering questions, chasing missing documents, and keeping multiple files moving at once. When an applicant is confused, frustrated, or escalating, you're the one who steadies the conversation.
You'll work inside platforms like RealPage, OneSite, and Funnel, so comfort with property management software matters. Fair Housing compliance isn't an afterthought here. It's built into every interaction.
Spanish fluency is a genuine requirement for this role, not a nice-to-have. A meaningful portion of applicants communicate primarily in Spanish, and you'll handle those conversations end to end without escalating to a translator.
What You Bring
- At least two years of customer service experience, preferably in a high-volume contact center or multifamily setting
- Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish (spoken and written)
- Hands-on experience with RealPage, OneSite, or Funnel is a strong differentiator
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential applicant information with care
- Strong organizational skills and comfort managing competing priorities without losing accuracy
- Availability for weekends and extended hours when volume requires it
Context Worth Knowing
Centralized leasing operations are expanding across institutional multifamily ownership, partly to standardize the applicant experience and partly to take pressure off on-site teams. Working inside Cortland's contact center puts you at the center of that model. You'll process high application volume across multiple properties rather than supporting a single community, which means the pace is real and the variety of situations is broad.
Candidates who perform well here tend to have one specific skill that separates them from others: they can maintain accuracy on paperwork while simultaneously managing a live conversation with an anxious applicant. Both halves matter equally. If your background is heavy on customer interaction but light on document review, or the reverse, this role will push you to strengthen the weaker side quickly.
