Leasing Consultant (Cupertino Park Center & Cupertino City Center)
Prometheus Real Estate GroupWhat You'll Actually Do
This is a leasing role at two Prometheus communities in Cupertino: Cupertino Park Center and Cupertino City Center. Day to day, you're the first point of contact for prospective residents. You'll show apartments, follow up on leads, walk people through applications, and close leases. Prometheus calls this role a "Neighbor Ambassador," and the title reflects something real: the job extends past getting a signature on a lease agreement.
You'll also handle the administrative side of leasing operations. That means preparing rental agreements, running market surveys, keeping occupancy reports current, and managing apartment listings. The customer service piece doesn't stop at move-in. You're helping current residents feel settled and heard, not just converting traffic into signed leases.
Weekend availability is required. That's when foot traffic peaks, and Prometheus schedules accordingly. Your regular days off will fall during the week.
Pay runs $25.00 to $26.25 per hour, plus a $200 per-lease incentive, a semi-annual discretionary bonus, and weekend shift premium pay. Additional bonuses apply for referrals, lease-up periods, and occupancy contests. Medical, dental, and vision are 100% company-paid, including for eligible dependents. A 401(k) with employer matching, tuition reimbursement, and tenure-based housing discounts round out the package.
What You Bring
- Comfort in a customer-facing, sales-oriented environment
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks without being prompted
- Weekend availability built into your regular schedule
- A track record in customer service, sales, or hospitality (prior leasing experience is not required)
Why This Role Is Worth a Closer Look
Prometheus is the largest privately held apartment owner in the Bay Area, with over 13,000 units across Silicon Valley, Portland, and Seattle. They're vertically integrated, handling acquisitions, development, renovations, and operations in-house. For someone starting out in property management, that structure matters: you're not working for a third-party management company hired to run someone else's asset. You're working for the owner, which tends to mean more stability, longer investment horizons, and less pressure from fee compression.
Cupertino is a high-barrier, high-demand submarket. The residents you'll be working with are often tech professionals with specific expectations around service quality. Candidates who do well here typically combine genuine warmth with organizational follow-through. Charm gets people in the door; attention to detail closes the lease and keeps renewals on track. If you build a strong leasing foundation at a company this size, paths into assistant management and property management open up faster than at smaller operators.
