Leasing Consultant

Centralized leasing hubs exist because following up on 40 to 50 leads a day across multiple communities is a full-time job that on-site teams rarely have the bandwidth to handle well. Cortland built a dedicated hub so that prospect communication actually gets done, and done consistently. This role sits inside that operation.

You won't be stationed at a single community. You'll work from a centralized position in Sandy Springs, fielding inbound calls, emails, and texts from prospective residents across Cortland's portfolio, and making outbound contact to keep leads warm. Your job is to qualify interest, match prospects to the right community based on their needs, and hand off appointment-ready leads to on-site leasing teams. It's a volume role with a sales rhythm. If you've worked in a call center or high-traffic leasing office and liked the pace, this structure will feel familiar.

What the Day Actually Looks Like

Leads come in through RealPage. You work them. That means returning inquiries quickly, asking the right questions to understand what someone actually needs (unit size, location, budget, timeline), and building enough genuine rapport that they want to take the next step. You're representing Cortland's brand in every interaction, so community knowledge matters. You'll do site visits and complete training to stay current on what each property offers, pricing, concessions, and amenities so your recommendations land with confidence rather than guesswork.

Bilingual fluency is listed as a qualification because a portion of Cortland's prospect pool communicates primarily in Spanish. If that's you, this hub needs that capability.

What You Bring

  • At least two years in customer service, ideally with a direct sales component
  • Fluency in English, with bilingual Spanish fluency preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication across phone, email, and text
  • Comfort with property management software, specifically OneSite. Familiarity with L2L is a plus
  • Typing speed and computer skills that can keep up with a multi-channel lead environment

The candidates who do well here tend to be organized under pressure and genuinely comfortable on the phone. Managing 40 to 50 lead touches a day is repetitive by design. That's not a warning, it's just the reality of the role. People who thrive in it find satisfaction in the conversion, not just the conversation.

For someone looking to grow in multifamily, a centralized leasing hub gives you broad exposure to how a large portfolio operates across different communities, price points, and resident profiles. That cross-community knowledge is a real asset if you eventually move into on-site leasing management or a regional role.
