This role sits at the front door of Retreat at Juban, a Hawthorne Residential Partners community in Denham Springs. Most of your day runs on people: greeting walk-ins, picking up the phone, responding to email and web leads, and taking prospects through tours that do more than point at square footage. You're reading the person in front of you and connecting what they need to what the property offers.
Beyond the tours, you're completing leasing applications, processing paperwork accurately for new move-ins, and following up with leads who didn't convert the first time. Occupancy and renewal goals are part of the job, so you'll track your own pipeline and understand where you stand. Resident events fall on your plate too, which means some evenings and Saturdays won't look like a typical office shift. The schedule runs Monday through Friday with one weekday off, plus Saturdays from 10 to 4, totaling 40 hours a week.
You'll also keep tabs on competing properties and local market movement. Knowing what a comparable unit down the road is offering helps you handle objections and price your community honestly in conversation.
Leasing work isn't glamorous every day. Some prospects will ghost you after a great tour. Some residents will come to the office frustrated. Saturdays happen every week. If that kind of variability wears you down fast, this role will feel harder than it looks on paper.
That said, the skills you build here transfer directly up the ladder. Hawthorne runs a formal career path program, and leasing consultant to assistant community manager is a common progression for people who show they can handle both the sales side and the administrative side of the job. Strong candidates tend to be the ones who treat follow-up as a system, not an afterthought, and who can hold a professional tone with a difficult resident without taking it personally.
Compensation includes an hourly base plus monthly leasing and renewal commissions. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k with match, paid time off (including your birthday), pet insurance, paid parental and adoption leave, and company-paid life insurance.
