Leasing Consultant

Leasing Consultant roles at garden-style apartment communities like Lakeside Village are front-line sales and service positions. You're the first person a prospect meets, and often the last one they talk to before signing. At Paragon Properties in Clinton Township, this role covers the full leasing cycle: traffic, tours, applications, move-ins, and renewals.

What the Job Actually Involves

Most of your day splits between incoming leads and on-site activity. You'll take calls, respond to inquiries, schedule and conduct tours, and follow up with prospects who didn't convert on the first visit. When someone is ready to move forward, you process the application and paperwork for manager review. You also walk vacant units and models regularly to make sure they're showing-ready. Move-in follow-up and work order check-ins keep current residents from going quiet before renewal time.

Marketing and outreach are part of the job too. That includes helping plan and execute local advertising efforts and resident events, not just tracking them on a spreadsheet.

What Paragon Is Looking For

• At least one year in a customer-facing sales or service role; six-plus months of on-site leasing experience is preferred
• High school diploma required; some college coursework preferred
• Solid computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Yardi experience is a plus
• Familiarity with Fair Housing regulations is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and genuine sales ability

Pre-employment background check, drug screening, and physical are required. The workplace is drug-free.

Compensation and Benefits

Starting pay is $18.50 per hour, negotiable based on prior experience. The position is guaranteed full-time at 40 hours per week. Benefits include paid time off, nine paid holidays, a leasing move-in bonus, rent discount, 401(k) with employer contribution, and medical, dental, and vision coverage with a short waiting period. Company-paid life and disability insurance is also included.
