Leasing Consultant

A prospect walks in on a Saturday morning, already touring three other communities that day. You have about ten minutes to make Bexley at WestRidge feel like home. That moment is where this role lives.

The Position at Bexley at WestRidge

Weinstein Properties has been family-owned and operated for over 70 years, with a portfolio of more than 60 apartment communities across Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. The McKinney location sits in one of the fastest-growing suburban corridors in the DFW market, which means consistent traffic and a steady opportunity to sharpen your leasing skills in a competitive environment.

As a Leasing Consultant, you're the first voice a prospect hears and the face they remember. You'll guide prospective residents through tours and the full leasing process, follow up on leads, handle administrative work in the leasing office, address current resident concerns, and help maintain the overall appearance and presentation of the community. This is not a single-track sales role. On any given day you might be processing an application, walking a make-ready to confirm it's show-ready, helping coordinate a resident event, or jumping in on a task that technically belongs to nobody in particular. Everyone does a bit of everything here, and that's intentional.

The schedule runs weekdays 9 to 6, Saturdays 9 to 5 on a rotating basis with your team, and Sundays are closed. Starting pay is $19 per hour, with increases based on experience and quarterly bonuses tied to performance.

What This Role Requires vs. What It Builds

Weinstein is explicit that prior leasing experience is not required. What they're actually screening for is harder to teach: genuine warmth with strangers, the ability to hold multiple priorities without dropping one, and a service orientation that doesn't fade when the day gets difficult. Strong written and verbal communication, comfort with administrative detail, and a collaborative instinct are the skills you need to bring in.

What the role builds is equally valuable. You'll develop a working fluency in the full leasing cycle, from first contact through move-in. You'll learn how to read traffic patterns, understand what drives occupancy at the property level, and recognize how your conversion rate contributes directly to NOI. Many of Weinstein's current leaders started in leasing consultant roles. This position is a legitimate on-ramp to Assistant Manager and eventually Property Manager responsibilities, particularly for people who demonstrate both results and reliability.

  • Confident communicator, in person and in writing
  • Customer-first mindset, including when situations are frustrating
  • Organized and goal-oriented with genuine follow-through
  • Comfortable being on your feet and moving throughout the property
  • Flexible enough to occasionally support resident events or weather-related needs outside standard hours

The candidates who tend to separate themselves in this role aren't necessarily the ones with the sharpest sales pitch. They're the ones who follow up when they said they would, notice when something on the property looks off, and treat a renewal conversation with the same energy as a first tour.
