Leasing Consultant

Student housing runs on a different clock than conventional multifamily. Lease-up seasons are intense, turn periods are compressed and chaotic, and the residents you're serving are often renting their first apartment without a parent holding their hand. The Experience Team Member role at The Republic at Lubbock sits right in the middle of all that energy, and it's genuinely a different animal than a standard leasing consultant position at a garden-style or Class A conventional community.

Scion is one of the larger operators in the student housing space, and this property serves the Texas Tech market. The ETM role blends leasing, marketing, resident engagement, and light property administration into a single position. That's not a criticism. It's just the reality of how student housing communities tend to staff their front-line teams. You'll be giving tours, handling package retrieval, jumping on social media to push engagement, helping plan resident events, and occasionally covering after-hours lockout calls. Some days you'll do all of that before lunch.

What makes someone genuinely good at this role isn't just friendliness, though that matters. It's the ability to shift gears without losing your footing. A prospective resident and their parent walk in right as you're logging packages and a maintenance request just came through the queue. You handle all three without any of them feeling like an afterthought. That composure under layered demands is what separates strong ETMs from ones who burn out by November.

The on-call rotation is worth taking seriously before you apply. After-hours lockout duty is part of the job, not an occasional exception. If that's a dealbreaker, it's better to know now than to find out mid-semester.

This is a part-time position based on-site at The Republic at Lubbock. Work authorization in the United States is required. Visa sponsorship is not available.
