Leasing Agent
BirgoIt's 10 a.m. on a Saturday and your phone has already pulled in three new inquiries from the weekend push. You've got two tours lined up by noon and a move-in packet to finalize before you leave the Greensburg office. That's a normal morning here.
The Role
Birgo is hiring a leasing agent based out of their Greensburg office, covering communities in Greensburg and one property in New Kensington. Administrative work stays centralized, but this is a road-and-property role: you're out meeting prospects, conducting showings, and walking new residents through move-in. The portfolio includes both market-rate and Section 8 units, so you'll need to be comfortable with Fair Housing compliance as a baseline, not an afterthought.
Day-to-day, you're the first voice a prospective resident hears. You're converting inquiries to tours, tours to applications, and applications to completed move-ins with inspections documented and nothing left on the punch list. You'll keep listings current, monitor ad performance, and coordinate with property management and maintenance to protect occupancy. Tenant care doesn't stop at the lease signing; part of this role is building the kind of rapport that keeps renewals off the delinquency radar before they ever get there.
Compensation is structured as an $18/hour base with performance commissions on top, with on-target earnings ranging from $46,000 to $70,000 annually. The benefits package includes medical, dental, vision, pet, and life insurance with a company contribution, a 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, sick time, mental health days, mileage reimbursement, a profit-sharing program, a professional development stipend, and a healthy lifestyle reimbursement. Birgo also offers discounted rates at their own properties.
What Birgo Is Looking For
- At least one year of leasing experience preferred; strong candidates from sales, hospitality, or customer service will be considered
- Familiarity with Fair Housing principles and multifamily leasing basics
- Experience with property management or leasing software is a plus
- High school diploma required
- Valid driver's license, insured vehicle, and willingness to travel between sites
- Availability for some evenings and weekends
- Comfort working on-site; limited remote flexibility
The candidates who do well here aren't the ones running a script. Birgo has stated explicitly they value genuine service over polished sales tactics, and in a mixed market-rate and Section 8 portfolio, that matters. Prospects for affordable units often have more questions, more anxiety about the process, and more to lose if something goes sideways at move-in. The leasing agents who build real occupancy in these communities are the ones who actually follow through.
One thing to know before applying: because this position involves managing rentals on Birgo's behalf, the role prohibits concurrent outside real estate sales, leasing, or property management activity.
