What You'll Actually Do

This full-time housekeeper role at Redpoint College Station puts you at the center of the resident experience every single day. The property's common areas, including the pool and spa, clubroom, public restrooms, and laundry rooms, stay clean and presentable because of the work you do. That means sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing on a regular schedule, clearing debris from parking areas, walkways, and stairways, and keeping the curbs clean. You'll also step in to support general maintenance needs and assist with cleaning and moving tasks as the property requires. When something looks damaged, broken, or off, you flag it to your supervisor rather than wait for it to become a bigger problem.

The on-call component is real. Outside of approved PTO, you're expected to be available for after-hours and weekend situations. Student housing runs on a tight schedule around move-ins, move-outs, and events, and the property needs to look sharp when it matters most. A valid driver's license is required, and the physical demands are genuine: standing for a full shift and lifting up to 100 lbs. are part of the job.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or GED, plus at least one year of full-time housekeeping or cleaning experience (or an equivalent combination)
  • Ability to read instructions and document labor and materials accurately
  • Reliable attendance and schedule flexibility, including availability for after-hours emergencies
  • Valid driver's license
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Comfort working within OSHA and safety guidelines, and following property-specific procedures

Where This Role Fits in a Property Career

Housekeeping and porter work in student housing is often where people build their first real foundation in property operations. You learn how a community functions from the ground up: what common areas drive resident satisfaction, how make-ready turns flow, and how maintenance teams coordinate. People who take this work seriously and develop a reputation for dependability often move into maintenance technician roles or lead porter positions. The skills you build here, specifically attention to asset condition, communication with supervisors, and safety awareness, carry directly into any property operations role you pursue later.

Scion offers health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k matching, paid parental and maternal leave, paid time off, a discretionary annual bonus, and learning reimbursement. For a non-exempt, full-time position in student housing operations, that's a solid package worth noting.
