Leasing Consultant

The 4pm to midnight shift at a residential community has its own rhythm. The leasing office is closed, the management team has gone home, and residents returning from long days expect the front desk to handle whatever they walk in with: a package question, a noise complaint, a guest they need cleared, a loading dock reservation they forgot to book. The concierge on this shift is the community's operational anchor for eight hours, and that's exactly what makes the role worth taking seriously.

Comstock is filling a full-time concierge position at their Rockville, MD property, Monday through Friday, 4pm to midnight. The schedule alone tells you something about what this role demands. Evening coverage at a Class A residential building means you're dealing with peak resident traffic, not the quiet mid-morning hours. You'll greet residents and guests, manage access control, coordinate amenity and loading dock reservations, and keep the lobby environment polished and presentable. Building walks are part of the routine, which means you're also acting as an early alert system for maintenance items the daytime team may have missed.

The skills this role requires are interpersonal above all else. You need a genuine ability to connect with people across backgrounds, handle complaints without escalating them, and stay composed when several things demand your attention at once. One year of concierge or high-end customer service experience is preferred, and Microsoft Office proficiency (particularly Outlook) matters because coordination tasks like reservation management and communication with the property team happen in writing.

What the role builds is equally worth naming. Evening concierge work sharpens your ability to operate independently and make judgment calls without a supervisor nearby. You develop a working knowledge of how a residential building actually functions after hours, which is valuable context if you eventually move toward a leasing, assistant manager, or property operations role. Concierge positions at Class A properties are a legitimate entry point into residential property management, particularly for candidates who want to understand the resident experience from the ground up before stepping into a leasing or administrative track.
