Front Desk Associate - West Ocean (32-hours)
Action Property ManagementIt's 7 pm on a Saturday and a resident's guest is at the front desk, a package hasn't been picked up, and the lobby needs a quick walk before the evening crowd comes through. That's the rhythm of this role, and the people who thrive in it know how to stay composed, courteous, and organized all at once.
The Role at West Ocean
Action Property Management is hiring a part-time Front Desk Associate for West Ocean, a community in Long Beach. This is a Thursday through Sunday position, 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, at $21.00 per hour. The shift runs through the busiest window of resident activity, so your presence at the front desk directly shapes how residents and guests experience the building every evening.
Day to day, you'll manage lobby access control, greet residents and guests, handle incoming calls, and distribute parcels. You'll complete the Daily Activity Report at the end of each shift and maintain the front desk area, lobby, and elevator bank. When resident or guest concerns come up, you're the first point of contact, which means your judgment and follow-through matter. Familiarity with the association's governing documents is part of the job, not optional background knowledge.
What Action Is Looking For
Candidates must be 18 or older and able to clear a pre-employment background check and drug screening. At least one year of customer service experience is required. Action specifically values candidates who come from hospitality, luxury retail, or fine dining, environments where presentation, pace, and service standards are non-negotiable. Hospitality Management students and recent graduates are a strong fit here.
- Polished, professional appearance and demeanor
- Proactive approach to resident and guest needs
- Strong judgment and a solutions-first mindset
- Positive, collaborative attitude with the broader team
Action Property Management is the largest privately owned HOA management company in the West, serving more than 300 communities across nine offices with a team of nearly 900 people. That scale means real infrastructure behind you: training, technology, and a defined career path if you want to grow in community management.
One thing worth noting for candidates new to HOA management: concierge-style front desk work at a residential community runs differently than hotel or retail. Residents aren't guests passing through. They live there, and long-term relationships with the front desk team matter to them. The skill set transfers well from hospitality, but the context is its own. Strong performers in this role often move into Community Assistant or Community Manager tracks over time.
Qualifying team members receive medical, dental, vision, pet insurance, 401(k) with company match, life and disability coverage, and paid time off including vacation, sick time, and company holidays.
