Day Porter - Perla on Broadway
Action Property ManagementAttention to detail and physical consistency define this role more than any credential. The Day Porter position at Perla on Broadway calls on someone with a steady work ethic, a sharp eye for what's out of place, and enough flexibility to step into front desk coverage when the team needs a break covered. It's a hands-on, active shift with real visibility across the property.
What the Work Actually Looks Like
The core of this position is maintaining common areas, both interior and exterior, so they stay clean, safe, and presentable throughout the shift. That means consistent walkthroughs, addressing spills or debris before they become complaints, and keeping the grounds in the kind of condition that reflects well on the community. You'll also handle resident package intake and logging, which sounds simple but requires accuracy and consistency. Residents notice when packages go missing or get misrouted, and so does management.
Front desk coverage is part of the deal. When the desk staff takes breaks, you step in. That requires basic people skills and enough familiarity with the building's operations to handle resident interactions without escalating issues or creating confusion.
The schedule runs Saturday through Wednesday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturdays and 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday, with Thursday and Friday off. Worth noting before you apply: weekend availability is a fixed requirement, not a rotating ask.
Skills This Role Draws On
- Consistency in cleaning and upkeep routines without needing daily direction
- Basic resident communication, calm and professional under routine pressure
- Package handling accuracy, logging items correctly every time
- Situational awareness for safety or maintenance issues that need to be reported
- Physical stamina for an active shift that keeps you on your feet
The Company Behind the Property
Action Property Management has been in HOA management since 1984 and has grown into the largest privately held HOA management company in the West, serving over 300 communities out of nine offices. Perla on Broadway is one of those communities in Los Angeles. The company's size means there's structure and process behind how properties are managed, which tends to make day-to-day expectations clear rather than ambiguous. For a porter role, that consistency matters. You know what's expected, and there's a team around you. This position pays $22.50 per hour.
