Community Manager

It's move-in weekend at a 500-plus-bed student community in College Station, and the lobby is buzzing. Parents are asking questions, residents are checking in, and your team is the first impression Scion makes on every single one of them. That's the center of gravity for this role.

The Role at Lark Northgate and Z Islander

The Customer Experience Manager sits at the intersection of leasing performance, resident satisfaction, and day-to-day operations across two larger student communities in the Bryan/College Station market. This isn't a pure leasing role and it isn't purely administrative. You'll carry responsibility for driving revenue goals through customer experience initiatives while also coaching the Experience Team, keeping tabs on facilities feedback, and executing marketing strategies that generate traffic to the property.

On any given week, you might be running a market survey, pulling KPIs to spot a delinquency trend before it becomes a problem, reviewing punch list items from a unit inspection, or planning an on-campus event tied to a lease-up push. Annual turn at a student property this size is a serious undertaking, and you'll work closely with the General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and Facilities Supervisor to plan and execute it successfully. Move-in and move-out coordination are part of that cycle.

The social media piece is more than checkbox marketing. Student residents in this market are active on Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook, and you'll be expected to develop and execute strategies on those platforms that actually connect with the demographic, not just post for the sake of posting.

What Scion Is Looking For

  • A college degree preferred, with at least two years of experience in customer service, sales, or community management
  • Comfort working up to six days per week during peak periods, including turn season and move-in
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Familiarity with property management systems, with Entrata experience being a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities without constant direction
  • A genuine commitment to fair housing compliance and a supportive approach to a diverse living and working environment

Student housing in the Bryan/College Station market runs on a tight annual cycle tied to Texas A&M's academic calendar. Properties here fill or struggle to fill during a compressed leasing window, and traffic patterns are highly seasonal. Candidates who understand how to build momentum early in that cycle, and sustain occupancy through renewal season, will find this role well-suited to those instincts.

The CXM role is a natural bridge toward a General Manager position for someone who builds credibility across the leasing, operations, and people management dimensions of this job. Scion operates at scale in the student living space, which means the internal career path is real if the performance is there.
