The Role

MG Properties is hiring a Community Manager for a property in Portland, OR. The company has been acquiring, developing, and managing apartment communities across the Western U.S. for over 30 years. This is a full operational leadership position: you run the site, you build the team, and you own the results.

Day to day, you'll oversee leasing activity and occupancy targets, manage the property budget, direct marketing efforts, and keep operations running across every department on site. You'll also be responsible for hiring, training, and developing your team. Strong candidates treat team-building as a core part of the job, not a side task.

Yardi is the platform in use here. Comfort with it matters, though the company lists it as preferred rather than required.

What MG Properties Is Looking For

  • Recent, hands-on experience managing an apartment community (this is a hard requirement)
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience, including hiring and performance management
  • Working knowledge of budgets, marketing, and leasing operations
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance

The Portland rental market has faced real pressure over the past few years: shifting renter demand, regulatory scrutiny around rent increases, and a tighter economic environment affecting NOI across the region. A manager who understands how to protect occupancy without over-relying on concessions, and who reads a budget with enough depth to spot problems early, will be better positioned here than someone whose experience is mostly leasing-side.

MG Properties offers a compensation package that includes monthly and performance-based incentive bonuses, company profit sharing, a 401(k) with employer match, and medical, dental, and vision coverage.
