Community Manager

Hillpointe builds and manages market-rate workforce housing across the Sun Belt, and this Community Manager role sits at the center of daily operations at one of their Phoenix properties. You're accountable for occupancy, financials, resident experience, and asset condition. All of it reports up to a Regional Manager, but the day-to-day runs through you.

What the Job Covers

You'll manage the full operational picture: budget oversight, accounts payable, vendor coordination, lease administration, and regular property walks to keep the asset in good condition. Units need to be make-ready to like-new standards before every move-in, and amenities get held to that same bar on an ongoing basis. You'll serve as the connection point between on-site needs and the facilities maintenance team, so clear communication and follow-through matter constantly.

On the revenue side, you're expected to support budgeted occupancy and rent targets, explore additional revenue opportunities as they come up, and report accurately using Entrata (preferred) and standard spreadsheet tools. Financial recordkeeping, including budget tracking and fiscal reporting, is a regular part of the role.

  • Drive and maintain budgeted occupancy in coordination with your Regional Manager
  • Oversee AP submission and vendor invoice processing
  • Conduct routine property walks and maintain curb appeal and interior standards
  • Coordinate between the facilities/maintenance team and property-level needs
  • Manage lease administration and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Build a community culture that keeps residents engaged and renewing

What You Bring

Property management experience is preferred. You need a high school diploma (or equivalent), a valid driver's license, and comfort working a flexible schedule with phone and email availability outside standard hours. The role involves routine local travel for bank deposits and training as needed, along with physical access to all parts of the property and the ability to handle up to 20 pounds independently.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are non-negotiable. You'll regularly work through legal documents, explain community features to prospective residents, and field operational questions from current ones. Proficiency with property management software, particularly Entrata, and solid math skills for financial reporting round out the core requirements.

A Note on Fit

Hillpointe controls the full development cycle in-house, from land acquisition through construction and asset management. That means the properties are relatively new and the standards for presentation reflect that. Community Managers who thrive here tend to be detail-oriented on asset condition while also being comfortable working across teams. If you've managed a lease-up or a newer community where the expectation was keeping everything looking like day one, that experience translates directly to what this role requires.
