Leasing Consultant

Centralized leasing roles differ from on-site positions in one key way: you're handling traffic and applications across multiple properties at once, not just one community. At Ackermann Group, a Midwest developer and manager with roots going back to 1938, this position sits at corporate headquarters in Cincinnati and covers leasing activity across their residential portfolio.

What the Work Looks Like

Your day runs from first contact to lease signed. Prospects reach you by phone or through digital channels, and your job is to convert those inquiries into tours and move-ins. You'll manage guest cards, prepare leases, track follow-ups, and document interactions in Yardi Voyager and Rent Cafe. The CRM is your paper trail, and keeping it accurate matters as much as your sales close rate.

Because you're covering multiple properties, product knowledge is a real requirement. You need to know unit counts, building specs, utility setups, and local market conditions well enough to speak to each community confidently and adjust your pitch accordingly. Fair housing compliance runs through every part of this job, from how you answer inquiries to how you document decisions.

You'll also field basic resident service needs, route work order requests, and support renewal conversations. It's a full-cycle leasing role with administrative depth. Occasional light physical tasks come with the territory.

What You Bring

  • At least one year of leasing experience with measurable results
  • Comfort working across Yardi Voyager, Rent Cafe, and CRM platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to build rapport quickly
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must live in the Greater Cincinnati area
  • Availability Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, plus Saturdays as needed

The Bigger Picture

Centralized leasing is increasingly common as operators look to reduce per-property overhead while keeping leasing velocity up. The skill set you build here, managing volume across a portfolio, tracking leads in a CRM, and staying current on multiple micro-markets, transfers well to leasing manager and portfolio management roles. Ackermann offers commission on new leases and renewals, a quarterly bonus structure, health benefits, 401k with company match, and an employee rent discount at any community in their portfolio.
