Leasing Consultant

Most leasing roles are tied to a single address. This one isn't. Cortland's Leasing Hub model centralizes the top-of-funnel work that individual communities can't always staff for consistently, and it creates a distinct career track for people who want to sharpen their sales skills across an entire portfolio rather than one property at a time.

This Bilingual Leasing Hub Associate position, based in Sandy Springs, sits at the front of Cortland's prospect pipeline. You're fielding inbound leads through RealPage's OneSite platform, running outbound outreach, and converting interest into scheduled tours across multiple communities. The volume is real: expect to work through 40 to 50 leads per day. Your job is to qualify prospects, match them to the right community based on their needs, and hand off warm, appointment-ready leads to the onsite leasing teams. You won't be signing leases yourself, but you're the reason the traffic numbers move.

What the Day-to-Day Actually Looks Like

A typical day blends inbound and outbound activity across phone, email, and text. You're building familiarity with Cortland's communities well enough to speak to pricing, amenities, and unit features with confidence, even for properties you haven't visited in a while. The bilingual requirement matters here: Cortland is specifically building capacity to serve Spanish-speaking prospects, and fluency in that context means handling nuanced conversations about lease terms and community culture, not just basic greetings. Customized training and periodic site visits are part of the role, so your community knowledge stays current rather than stale.

Who Tends to Succeed Here and Where It Goes

Strong candidates have a background in sales-oriented customer service and are comfortable with volume and repetition without losing quality. The candidates who stand out aren't just fast talkers. They're good listeners who ask the right questions early enough to avoid wasting a prospect's time. Proficiency in OneSite is listed as a requirement, with L2L (Lead2Lease) experience as a plus, so comfort with CRM-style leasing software is a real differentiator.

From a career development standpoint, this role builds skills that transfer well. Hub-based leasing gives you exposure to portfolio-level traffic patterns and lead conversion data that most community-level consultants never see. That broader view, combined with high-volume sales reps, positions you well for a move into a Leasing Manager role, a Regional Leasing Specialist position, or even a training-focused role within a larger operator. At a vertically integrated company like Cortland, there's also visibility into development and asset management functions that can open doors over time if that's the direction you want to grow.

  • 2 or more years of customer service experience, with a preference for direct sales exposure
  • English fluency required; bilingual English and Spanish fluency is a core part of this role
  • Strong written and verbal communication across multiple channels
  • Proficiency in OneSite; L2L experience is a plus
  • Comfort with high-volume outreach and lead management on a daily basis
