Assistant Property Manager

It's 9 a.m. on the first of the month, and the CAM reconciliation package is due to a client by noon. Three vendor invoices hit the AP queue overnight, a tenant submitted a maintenance escalation, and the Property Manager needs the monthly report drafted before a 10 o'clock ownership call. That's a normal Tuesday in this role.

The Work

Lincoln Property Company is hiring an Assistant Property Manager to support day-to-day operations across a commercial portfolio in Burlington, MA. The portfolio spans office, industrial, and retail assets, so exposure here is broad. You'll work directly alongside the Property Manager on financial reporting, lease administration, and tenant relations, with enough ownership over specific workstreams to build real operational depth.

On the financial side, you'll help prepare monthly reports and budget packages for institutional clients, manage operating expense reconciliation data (CAM/OpX), and review vendor invoices for accuracy and compliance with the management agreement and authorization limits. These aren't rubber-stamp tasks. Clients expect clean numbers delivered on time, and you'll be accountable for the inputs that make that happen.

Lease administration runs through this role as well: setting up new leases in applicable systems, processing changes, and coordinating tenant move-ins and move-outs, including walk-throughs with tenants and tenant improvement teams. You'll also support procurement and vendor bidding activities, help maintain emergency response plans, and provide direction to any direct reports on your team.

What Lincoln Is Looking For

  • A bachelor's degree (BA/BS) preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in commercial property management or a closely related field
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with AP and CMMS platforms is a plus
  • Ability to calculate percentages, discounts, and basic financial figures with accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work through tenant and vendor issues while keeping relationships intact
  • Solid organizational habits and a track record of hitting deadlines under real workload pressure

This position is fully in-office in Burlington. No remote or hybrid option is available. Monthly property inspections and travel to assigned sites are part of the schedule.

Candidates who tend to separate themselves in this type of role are the ones who can hold the financial detail and the people side simultaneously. CAM reconciliation accuracy matters, but so does how you handle a frustrated tenant at 8:45 a.m. before the inbox is even clear. Lincoln operates a 720-million-square-foot portfolio nationally, which means the systems, reporting standards, and client expectations here are institutional-grade. If you're early in your commercial PM career and want exposure to that level of operation, this role delivers it.
