Assistant Property Manager

A prospect walks in unannounced on a Saturday morning, two other people are waiting on a callback, and your inbox has three new internet leads from overnight. That's a normal start to a shift at Bexley Wolf Ranch, and it's exactly the kind of morning this role is built for.

Weinstein Properties, a family-owned company with over 70 years in the business, manages more than 60 apartment communities across Virginia, North Carolina, Texas, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Georgetown, TX location is hiring an Assistant Property Manager to support daily operations at Bexley Wolf Ranch. Starting pay is $23 per hour, with increases based on experience and quarterly bonuses. A sign-on bonus is also available (details come up during the interview). Benefits include health, dental, and vision coverage, 401k with company match, rent discount, paid holidays, birthday time off, and an Employee Assistance Program.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

This role covers a wide range of on-site responsibilities. On the leasing side, you'll respond to internet leads and phone inquiries, schedule and conduct tours, process applications, assemble lease paperwork, and collect deposits and signatures. You'll work with current residents on renewals, notices to vacate, early terminations, pet addendums, and transfer requests. Posting rent, following up on outstanding balances, and handling delinquency conversations are part of the routine too.

You'll coordinate closely with the maintenance team, walking units to confirm make-ready quality before move-in and following up with residents on open work orders. Move-out processing and security deposit dispositions also fall in your court. Beyond the transactional work, you'll help plan and host resident events, which sometimes means evening or weekend hours. Rotating Saturdays are a set part of the schedule.

Assisting and occasionally leading the team, supporting training, and helping the Property Manager hit operational goals rounds out the position. This is a hands-on role. Expect to be on your feet, not at a desk.

What Weinstein Is Looking For

Prior property management experience is a genuine plus, but the company will train someone who comes from a customer-facing background in sales, hospitality, or service management. What matters more is how you handle pressure, communicate under stress, and follow through on detail-heavy tasks.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in difficult conversations
  • Comfort managing shifting priorities without losing track of open items
  • A customer-first orientation that holds up when residents are frustrated
  • Willingness to pitch in on tasks outside your direct job description
  • Goal orientation and the ability to stay organized in a high-traffic environment

One honest note worth mentioning: the assistant manager role is where a lot of the resident friction lands. Lease questions, billing disputes, maintenance frustrations. You'll handle these conversations directly and often. The candidates who thrive here tend to be people who find problem-solving satisfying even when the person across the desk isn't happy. That skill, developed at the site level, is exactly what prepares people for property manager roles down the line. Weinstein has a stated track record of promoting from within, and many of their current leaders came up through leasing and assistant manager positions.
