Assistant Property Manager

Lincoln Property Company manages more than 720 million square feet of commercial space across the United States and internationally, which means the people who work there operate at genuine scale. This Assistant Property Manager role in Charlotte puts you inside that machine at the commercial level, supporting the day-to-day management of office, retail, or industrial assets under the direction of a senior Property Manager.

The work spans a wide band of responsibilities. On any given week, you might be reconciling CAM charges with the accounting team, reviewing vendor invoices against management agreement thresholds, helping prepare monthly reporting packages for institutional clients, or walking a space with a tenant improvement team during a move-in. Lease administration runs through the role too, including setup, amendments, and keeping applicable systems current. None of this is purely administrative. You're expected to understand what you're looking at financially, communicate clearly with tenants and vendors, and help the property run to the standards a major institutional client expects.

The CAM/OpEx reconciliation piece is worth paying attention to. Operating expense reconciliation is one of those skills that commercial property managers carry with them for their entire careers. Getting comfortable with the calculations, the lease language, and the tenant communication involved in that process is foundational. People who move from assistant to full property manager roles tend to do so faster when they've genuinely owned a piece of that work rather than just supported it.

What you'll bring to this role

  • A bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
  • One to two years of experience in commercial property management or a closely related field
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with AP and CMMS platforms is a plus
  • Comfort with financial concepts: percentages, discounts, basic financial analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication, with the judgment to match tone to situation
  • Organizational discipline and the ability to meet deadlines across multiple workstreams
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future

This is a fully in-office position in Charlotte. Property inspections and travel to assigned assets are part of the regular routine, so comfort with time spent on-site matters.

Lincoln's structure gives assistant managers real exposure to institutional-grade clients and complex assets early. For someone building toward a Property Manager title, or eventually toward a portfolio or regional role, the combination of financial reporting, vendor management, lease administration, and tenant relations you develop here covers most of what senior roles will test you on.
