Assistant Property Manager at Raveneaux Apartments

Raveneaux Apartments is a Cottonwood Residential community in Houston, and they're bringing on an Assistant Property Manager to help run the day-to-day alongside the Property Manager. It's a real operations role, not a leasing position with a fancier title.

You'll spend a meaningful part of your week on the administrative side: collecting rent, managing delinquency, keeping resident files current, and preparing legal notices when they're needed. That last piece matters. Delivering a notice correctly, on time, and with the right documentation behind it can make or break an eviction proceeding if it gets that far. Residents will also come to you with billing questions, payment disputes, and general concerns, so your ability to stay composed and clear under pressure is going to show up daily.

Vendor coordination is part of it too. You'll track work orders, follow up with contractors, and make sure things actually get done. That sounds straightforward until a vendor doesn't show, a resident is following up for the third time, and the property manager is out that day. When the PM is unavailable, this role carries the property. That's expected, not exceptional.

Cottonwood has been an early adopter of self-guided tours, so the leasing side of your work will involve some tech-forward processes. If you've only ever worked communities with traditional agent-led tours, there's a short learning curve, but it's manageable. The bigger adjustment is getting comfortable holding multiple responsibilities at once without letting the detail work slip.

Weekend availability is required. That's a real constraint for some people, and it's worth knowing upfront.
