Assistant Property Manager

Bozzuto is hiring an Assistant General Manager for one of its communities in Miami's 33137 market, a zip code that covers Edgewater and parts of the Upper East Side. This is an active, floor-level management role. You're not a back-office operator. You're on the ground, leasing, managing delinquency, coaching staff, and keeping the property looking sharp.

What You'll Actually Do

Your days split between two modes: operational support and direct leasing. When the General Manager is out, you run the community. That means handling resident concerns, keeping the team on task, and making decisions. When the GM is present, you focus on your own performance: conducting tours that convert, collecting rent, posting receipts, and chasing down delinquency before it becomes a problem on the month-end report.

You'll also own the resident experience side of things. That means following up after move-ins, resolving complaints with actual care rather than scripted responses, and staying visible in the community. Bozzuto ties retention goals directly to how well the team handles everyday interactions, so the small stuff matters here.

Weekend availability is part of the job. Expect one to two weekends per month in exchange for two weekdays off. Prospective residents look at apartments on Saturdays and Sundays. You need to be there for that traffic.

What You Bring

  • At least two years in property management, hospitality, or retail, with real exposure to rent collection, accounts receivable, and budget basics
  • A four-year degree or comparable work experience
  • Comfort with Yardi or similar property management software
  • Confidence running social media (Facebook, Instagram) to support leasing and community engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication. You'll be talking to prospects, residents, vendors, and ownership-level stakeholders
  • A sales instinct. You need to close leases, not just show units

Context Worth Knowing

The AGM role at a company like Bozzuto is one of the cleaner paths to a General Manager or Community Manager position. You're learning financial oversight, team leadership, and leasing strategy simultaneously. Candidates who advance quickly tend to be the ones who treat delinquency management and NOI awareness as seriously as the leasing side. The people who stall are usually strong on traffic and tours but hands-off when it comes to collections and accountability conversations.

Miami's rental market moves fast and residents have options. That makes genuine service quality, not just amenity packages, a real differentiator. If you've worked in a competitive urban market before, that experience will translate directly here.

Compensation sits in the $64,000 to $65,000 range with bonus eligibility. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 20 days of paid time off plus holidays, a 401k with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
