Assistant General Manager
BozzutoFee management operators like Bozzuto run on tight NOI discipline and resident retention numbers that compound over time. The Assistant General Manager role exists because property performance at that level requires two people who can own the outcome, and the AGM carries full operational weight when the GM is out of the building.
This position sits at a community in Saint Petersburg, FL. The day-to-day splits between leasing activity and financial operations. You're conducting tours that convert traffic into signed leases, posting rental receipts, and managing delinquency closely enough that it doesn't quietly drag the T-12. You're also the person on the floor two weekends a month when prospective residents are actively shopping, which is exactly when converting traffic matters most. In return, you get two weekdays off during those weeks.
Where the Role Actually Lives
Resident retention is a big part of this job's contribution to NOI. Losing a resident triggers a turn, a make-ready, potential concessions to fill the unit, and a gap in rental income. The AGM role is one of the primary buffers against that cycle. Every resident interaction, from a maintenance concern to a lease renewal conversation, is an opportunity to keep occupancy where it needs to be. You're also the person coaching and holding the leasing team accountable when the GM steps away, which means your influence on traffic-to-lease ratios is direct.
Bozzuto uses Yardi, so familiarity with that platform will shorten your ramp time. Social media content creation is part of the role as well, specifically platforms like Instagram and Facebook where community brand presence affects both traffic and resident engagement.
What You Bring
- A four-year degree or equivalent experience in property management, hospitality, or retail
- At least two years working in one of those industries
- Working knowledge of rent collection, accounts receivable, and basic budget exposure
- Comfort with Yardi or comparable property management software
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Sales instincts that show up in leasing conversations, not just on paper
The AGM role is a natural stepping stone toward General Manager. Operators who spend time here building delinquency discipline, leasing conversion habits, and team management experience tend to move into GM positions with a clear picture of what the full P&L responsibility looks like. That context is harder to get any other way. The salary range for this position runs from $65,000 to $69,000, with bonus eligibility on top of base, along with Bozzuto's benefits package covering medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401k with company match, and tuition reimbursement.
