Assistant Community Manager
Redstone ResidentialWhat You'll Actually Do
This role sits at the intersection of leasing production and financial accountability. You're helping drive occupancy while also keeping delinquency in check, two goals that don't always cooperate. On any given day, you might be walking a prospective resident through an available unit in the morning, then spending part of the afternoon reconciling resident ledgers and issuing late notices. Both sides of that equation matter equally to property performance.
The leasing piece is active. You'll greet traffic, qualify prospects, present the community, and close. Follow-up is expected, not optional. Online inquiries and leasing calls come through consistently, and you'll handle them alongside in-person tours. The administrative side runs parallel: daily vacancy reports, notice-to-vacate updates, activity logs, and all the paperwork that keeps a community's records clean and audit-ready.
Rent collection is another real part of this position. You'll track resident balances, initiate follow-up when accounts fall behind (calls, notices, door contacts), and coordinate with the Property Manager when situations escalate toward eviction. Delinquency management at this level is hands-on work. You own the follow-through.
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED required
- Comfortable working across Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook daily
- Strong customer service instincts and professional communication habits
- Ability to juggle leasing activity, reporting tasks, and resident issues without letting any one area slip
- Alignment with Redstone's culture and core values, which center on performance, authentic communication, and consistency
Context Worth Knowing
Redstone Residential operates over 38,000 beds across 20 states, with a growing conventional multifamily portfolio alongside their student housing roots. This Bountiful, Utah position is part of that conventional expansion. The company is headquartered in Provo, so regional leadership is close, which typically means more direct visibility and faster feedback loops than you'd get with a distant corporate structure.
For someone early in a property management career, the Assistant Community Manager role is one of the most practical proving grounds available. You touch leasing metrics, delinquency, reporting, and resident relations all at once. Candidates who perform well here typically move into Property Manager roles with a realistic grasp of what drives NOI at the site level, not just the leasing side of it. If you've worked leasing before but want broader operational exposure, this is where that transition happens.
