Birgo runs a portfolio of Class B and C apartment communities across western Pennsylvania. This maintenance technician position covers four properties in Greensburg totaling 198 units. It's a multi-site role, so you'll move between communities as the work demands, and you'll occasionally support other Birgo locations across the WPA region.
Turns and make-readies will anchor a significant part of your week. When a unit flips, you're working through the punch list: drywall, paint, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and whatever else the unit needs before the next resident moves in. Beyond turns, you'll handle day-to-day repairs and preventative maintenance across all four properties. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, either 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM or 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. You'll also rotate through on-call for after-hours emergencies.
Pay runs $24 to $27 per hour, paid weekly. Birgo provides medical, dental, vision, and life insurance with employer contributions, a 401(k) match, paid time off, paid holidays, sick time, mileage reimbursement, and a boots and uniform program. They also offer professional development reimbursement and discounted rent at Birgo properties.
Multi-site technicians cover more ground than single-property techs, and that breadth builds your skills faster. Handling repairs across different property types (Birgo's portfolio here includes traditional apartments and townhomes) means you're not doing the same ten work orders on repeat. The on-call requirement is real, so come in with eyes open on that. Technicians who thrive in setups like this tend to be self-starters who don't need a supervisor walking them through a punch list every morning.
Birgo describes itself as mission-driven and emphasizes professional growth and team culture. The professional development reimbursement is a concrete signal of that, not just a tagline.
