What You'll Actually Do in the Field

This role sits at the intersection of property inspection, hospitality prep, and light maintenance coordination. Based out of Folly Beach, South Carolina, you'll move between a portfolio of short-term rental homes in your assigned zone, keeping each one functional, clean, and stocked before guests arrive and after they leave. The work is physical and detailed: conducting pre- and post-stay inspections, documenting findings in a task management system, restocking consumables, handling small repairs like lightbulb swaps and TV troubleshooting, and resetting each home to brand standards after a turn.

You'll also carry a hospitality layer that goes beyond a standard make-ready checklist. Arrival preps include welcome touches, gifts, and notes for incoming guests. When something goes wrong mid-stay, you may be the person dispatched to handle it on the ground. At times, that means fielding calls or messages from guests and owners directly. Think of it as part caretaker, part runner, and occasionally part front desk.

Success in this role gets measured concretely: inspection counts per shift, task completion accuracy, responsiveness to urgent issues, and whether your homes consistently score above a 4.8 average in guest reviews. Those numbers matter to homeowner satisfaction and to Roofstock's STR operation as a whole.

What You Bring

  • At least one year of experience in hospitality, vacation rental care, property maintenance, or a closely related field
  • A track record of following detailed checklists and brand standards without shortcuts
  • Physical readiness: walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 lbs throughout a shift is a regular part of the job
  • Comfort with mobile apps and digital task tracking tools
  • Strong communication habits, both written and verbal, when coordinating with guests, owners, and teammates
  • A valid driver's license, a reliable personal vehicle, and flexibility to work weekends, holidays, early mornings, and evenings

The role provides a $135 monthly car allowance and $100 monthly for tools and equipment. You'll have two days off per week, though the schedule rotates to cover a short-term rental market that doesn't follow a Monday-through-Friday rhythm.

Where This Role Fits in the Bigger Picture

Roofstock built its name in long-term single-family rentals, but its 2025 stake in Casago signals a serious move into STR management at scale. That means the STR team is early-stage by design, and the Hospitality Coordinator role is foundational to whether the operation earns the owner trust and guest reviews it needs to grow. Folly Beach is a high-demand coastal market where guest expectations run high and turnaround windows between stays can be tight. The ability to work efficiently without sacrificing inspection quality is what separates people who excel here from those who simply get through the shift.

For someone with a background in vacation rental operations or hotel housekeeping coordination, this role builds direct experience with STR-specific inspection standards, owner communication, and field-based problem solving. Those skills translate well into STR operations management, market lead roles, or broader property care coordination as a company like this scales into new markets.
