Market Maintenance Technician

John M. Corcoran & Company has been managing residential communities across New England since 1951, and the physical condition of their properties is a direct reflection of that reputation. The Halstead in Plymouth, MA is looking for a Maintenance Technician who can handle the daily grind of service requests while staying sharp enough to pivot when something urgent comes up.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

On a typical day, you're moving through a queue of work orders: appliance repairs, smoke detector installations, door hardware, tile work, handrails, light fixtures. The cosmetic side matters here too. Painting units, swapping screens, replacing windows. These aren't afterthoughts. A well-kept building holds occupancy, and occupancy drives NOI. JMC takes that seriously.

You'll also be the point of contact for emergency situations, including flood response and back-to-back move-ins. If you've worked a busy turn season, you know what that kind of scheduling pressure feels like. Same principle applies here. You need to prioritize fast, communicate clearly, and keep the punch list moving. On top of the hands-on work, you'll track paperwork and invoices and coordinate with outside contractors and suppliers when the scope goes beyond in-house.

What JMC Is Looking For

• At least 6 months of trade or building maintenance experience
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems
• Comfort with general repairs: doors, locks, tiles, handrails, fixtures
• Strong safety instincts and the ability to identify hazards before they become incidents
• Specialized trade experience in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or roofing is a real advantage

The schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, with an on-call rotation. Pay ranges from $26.75 to $32.00 per hour, plus a $2,500 sign-on bonus. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, PTO, holidays, and a 401k with company match.
