This is a full-time maintenance technician role at The Palmer, a residential apartment community in Charlotte managed by Olympus Property. Your day runs Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with on-call availability for emergencies outside those hours. That part matters. Emergencies don't wait.
The work itself is broad. You're handling service requests across plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and appliance repair. That means fixing a leaky faucet in the morning, swapping out a refrigerator in the afternoon, and patching drywall somewhere in between. You'll also run preventative maintenance on HVAC units: filter changes, coil cleaning, system diagnosis. An EPA or HVAC certification is a real asset here, not just a checkbox.
Beyond the unit-level work, you'll help maintain grounds, common areas, and pool facilities. You'll track your work orders through a software system, keep the maintenance shop organized, and coordinate daily priorities with the Lead Maintenance Technician. You're not working in isolation. The service team and leasing office depend on your turnaround speed.
Olympus Property has been recognized by the National Apartment Association as a top employer three years running (2023, 2024, 2025). That kind of consistency usually reflects something real in how a company treats its maintenance staff, not just its corporate employees. Benefits here include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with employer matching, an apartment rental allowance, tuition reimbursement, and monthly and quarterly bonus eligibility.
One thing that separates strong technicians in a role like this from average ones: follow-through on work order documentation. Managers and owners track completion rates, response times, and resident satisfaction scores closely. Technicians who close work orders accurately and communicate delays early make the entire operation run better. The ones who don't create noise that ripples up fast.
If you're solid technically and want a team with genuine career pathing built in, this is worth a close look.
