Maintenance Technician

Roving maintenance roles exist because no single property can always justify a full bench of technicians, but every property still needs consistent, skilled coverage. CloudTen Residential has structured this position to float across three Bend, Oregon communities: Lakeside Place, Terava, and The Hixon. If you know Bend's rental market, you know it's grown fast over the past decade, and the properties that hold occupancy are the ones that keep units tight and curb appeal sharp. This role sits at the center of that.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

Your day shifts between sites depending on where the need is greatest. One morning you might be knocking out a punch list of service requests at one property; by afternoon you're helping another team get a unit rent-ready before a new lease starts. The 3-to-5-day turn window is the standard here, so you'll move through make-readies with purpose: appliance repair, basic electrical, plumbing, painting, and anything else a unit needs to get back on the market clean and safe.

Beyond turns, you're handling day-to-day service requests with a 24-hour resolution target, supporting pool and spa upkeep, keeping common areas presentable, and running monthly preventive maintenance rounds that cover life safety systems, lighting, fire safety checks, and pool equipment. You'll need to know where shutoffs live at each site and be comfortable communicating delays to both residents and site managers when parts or scheduling push timelines out.

On-call emergency response is part of the job. After-hours calls come with the territory in any maintenance role, and this one is no exception. The flexibility to respond on evenings and weekends is a real requirement, not a footnote.

What CloudTen Is Looking For

  • One to two years of hands-on maintenance experience across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and painting
  • A valid driver's license (required, since you're moving between properties)
  • Comfort working independently and managing your own schedule across multiple sites
  • Basic computer and mobile device skills for work order systems and documentation
  • Strong communication habits, both with residents and with site management teams you're supporting
  • Availability for weekends, evenings, and holiday coverage

Pay runs $25.00 to $27.00 per hour depending on experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, company-paid life insurance, an FSA option, and paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays.

One thing that separates strong candidates in a roving role: the ability to walk into a property you don't manage daily and still get things done efficiently. You won't always have the home-field advantage of knowing where every tool is stored or which residents tend to submit repeat requests. Adaptability and organization matter here more than they do in a single-site position, and technicians who build that skill set often move into lead or supervisor roles as a natural next step.
