Maintenance Technician - Olympus Alameda

What the Work Requires

The core of this role is hands-on repair across multiple systems. You'll handle minor to moderate plumbing, electrical fixture and switch replacements, appliance repairs (refrigerators, stoves, washers, dryers, ovens, microwaves), lock systems, door hardware, and painting. Preventative maintenance on HVAC units is a regular responsibility, including filter changes and coil cleaning, so an EPA/HVAC certification is required before you start. A CPO certification is also required, since pool maintenance falls within your scope.

Beyond the unit work, you'll help maintain common areas and grounds, track service requests through property management software, and keep the maintenance shop organized and inventoried. You'll coordinate daily and weekly priorities with the Lead Maintenance Technician rather than setting your own schedule in isolation. That kind of structured communication keeps the team from doubling up or dropping tasks during busy stretches.

Full-time hours run Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 6 PM, with some flexibility built in. Emergency on-call availability is part of the job. That part's worth naming plainly: after-hours calls happen, and this role expects you to respond when they do.

Experience and Credentials

• Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in commercial, residential, or apartment settings
• EPA/HVAC certification (required)
• CPO certification (required)

• Comfort using software systems to log and track work orders
