Maintenance Technician

Multifamily maintenance at scale requires technicians who can shift gears fast. This role covers 449 apartments across 11 buildings, which means the work order queue moves constantly and no two days look the same. RedPeak has operated in the Denver market for over two decades, and this position sits at a mid-senior level on the maintenance team, directly supporting the Service Supervisor with scheduling, vendor oversight, and quality control alongside hands-on repair work.

What the Work Actually Looks Like

The bulk of your day runs through service requests: electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, drywall, and painting. You'll also handle preventative maintenance and grounds inspections, flagging and addressing deficiencies before they become resident complaints. When outside contractors are on site, you're the one coordinating their work and checking quality. On-call rotation is part of the job, so emergency response comes with the territory.

Security systems fall under this role too. That includes installing and monitoring cameras, managing lock and key access, and tracking vendor key checkouts. You'll keep maintenance records current in Yardi, which is the platform RedPeak uses for work orders and inventory.

The multi-site scope matters here. Managing high request volumes across 11 buildings requires strong time management and the ability to triage effectively. Technicians who thrive in this environment tend to be the ones who can diagnose accurately on the first visit and solve for the long-term fix rather than the quick patch.

Qualifications and Certifications

  • 1 to 2 years of multifamily maintenance, construction, or equivalent hands-on experience
  • Intermediate working knowledge of electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Familiarity with Yardi or comparable work order platforms
  • EPA 608 and CPO certifications preferred (RedPeak covers the cost if you need to earn them)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
  • Technical degree or equivalent training is a plus, not a hard requirement

Pay runs $24 to $27 per hour with bonus potential. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., with on-call availability as needed. Benefits include full medical, dental, and vision, a 30% rent discount, 401(k) with immediate vesting, 16 PTO days, 13 paid holidays, and a student debt repayment program. The office is at 1044 N. Downing St. in Denver's Capitol Hill neighborhood.

One thing worth noting for candidates considering the step from Tech I to Tech II: this level carries real supervisory exposure. Assisting with scheduling and vendor management gives you line-of-sight into how a property runs operationally, which is the groundwork for a Service Supervisor or Maintenance Director path. If that trajectory interests you, this role builds the right foundation.
