Maintenance Technician

Multi-property maintenance work in a dense urban market like West Hollywood demands a different kind of technician than a single-site role. You're moving between properties, triaging competing priorities, and making judgment calls without a supervisor looking over your shoulder. Property Management Associates has operated in the greater Los Angeles area for over 30 years, managing a large residential portfolio across Southern California, and this full-time position supports multiple sites in the West Hollywood area.

What the Role Requires

PMA is looking for at least three years of hands-on experience across the core trades: plumbing, electrical, drywall, and appliance repair. Rent-ready apartment preparation is a meaningful part of this work, so comfort with the full make-ready process matters. You'll handle resident work orders, conduct routine property inspections, manage parts inventory, and coordinate order fulfillment to keep repairs on schedule. Saturday availability is part of the expectation when the workload calls for it.

Because you'll cover multiple properties, a valid driver's license and personal auto insurance are required. PMA provides an auto allowance of $300 per month and a cell phone allowance of $25 per month, along with tools and dedicated tool storage. Compensation runs $23.00 to $26.00 per hour at 40 hours per week.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, drywall, and appliance repair
  • Proficiency with rent-ready unit preparation and punch list completion
  • Ability to lift 25 to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for up to 8 hours
  • Strong organizational skills for parts inventory and work order tracking
  • Valid driver's license with proof of auto insurance
  • Fluent English communication skills

What This Role Builds

Technicians who work multi-property portfolios develop a sharper diagnostic instinct than those fixed to a single site. When you're seeing dozens of different unit conditions across a large residential inventory, you start to recognize failure patterns faster, prioritize more accurately, and manage your own time with real discipline. Those skills transfer directly into lead maintenance, facilities management, or eventually a regional maintenance supervisor role.

PMA describes itself as a company that encourages an entrepreneurial mindset and invests in its staff. For a technician who wants to grow past the wrench, a large third-party management portfolio like this one provides exposure to a range of property types, ownership structures, and operational challenges that a smaller operator simply can't offer. The technicians who advance here tend to be the ones who treat inventory management and resident communication with the same seriousness as the physical repair work itself.

Compensation and Benefits

Full-time employees receive medical, dental, vision, and life insurance with an employer contribution, a 401(k) with discretionary company match after one year, short-term and long-term disability coverage, and paid time off covering vacation, sick time, and holidays. Critical illness, accident, and hospital indemnity plans are also available.
