Maintenance Technician

Waypoint Management Services operates a high-end luxury community in Vero Beach, and they're looking for a Maintenance Technician who takes genuine pride in the physical environment residents come home to every day. This isn't a role where you clock in, knock out tickets, and disappear. The expectation is that you're present, responsive, and connected to the overall experience of the community.

Day to day, you're diagnosing and resolving service requests, completing make-readies so units are truly move-in ready (not just technically checked off), and running preventive maintenance on HVAC systems and other community equipment before small issues become expensive ones. Priority work orders get a 24-hour turnaround. You'll also coordinate with contractors on make-ready conditions, handle plumbing and carpentry repairs, and keep the pool chemistry and trash compactor in proper working order. Grounds maintenance and gate and security equipment checks are part of the rotation too. On-call availability comes with the role, which is worth knowing upfront.

What makes someone genuinely strong in this position, beyond technical competence, is the ability to read a situation with residents. A frustrated resident waiting on a repair responds very differently to someone who communicates clearly and follows through than to someone who's technically capable but hard to reach. What you'll need to bring

• High school diploma or equivalent, with relevant maintenance experience or training
• EPA Section 608 certification (Types I and II), required at hire
• CPO certification is a plus
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and safe practices
• Experience across plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and general building repairs
• Availability for on-call rotation
