Maintenance Technician
Village GreenThe Work Behind Every Occupied Unit
A maintenance technician at a multifamily property is the person whose daily output shows up directly in occupancy numbers. Turns completed on time mean faster re-leasing. Work orders closed quickly keep renewal rates healthy. At Village Green's Reynoldsburg community, that connection between hands-on technical work and property performance is real and visible every day.
Village Green is looking for a Maintenance Technician with one to three years of experience in multifamily housing or a related trade environment. The role covers the full range of residential maintenance: work orders across plumbing, electrical, and appliances, plus apartment turns that include drywall repair, painting, and appliance repair or replacement. Make-readies have to move on schedule, and this position is a direct part of making that happen.
Day-to-Day Scope
- Complete work orders in a timely manner, with HVAC knowledge a core expectation
- Handle plumbing and electrical service requests across occupied and vacant units
- Execute full apartment turns: plumbing, electrical, drywall, paint, appliance work
- Respond to on-call and after-hours emergency requests as directed by the Property Manager and Service Manager
- Maintain curb appeal through daily exterior upkeep, snow removal in winter, and housekeeping duties as needed
- Service pool and spa areas where applicable
Customer-facing interactions are part of this job in a real way. Residents notice how service requests get handled, how quickly, and how professionally. Strong technicians treat every service call as a touchpoint, not just a task on a punch list.
What Separates Strong Candidates Here
On-call availability is a real part of this role. Multifamily maintenance operates outside business hours, and a candidate who's genuinely comfortable rotating on-call duty will fit the pace of this work better than someone treating it as an occasional inconvenience. Beyond availability, the technicians who stand out in roles like this combine solid trade skills with low friction on resident interactions. You can know every plumbing fix in the book, but if residents don't feel respected during the visit, renewal odds drop.
Plumbing, contracting, or builders' certifications and licenses are a plus but not required. General computer knowledge matters for work order tracking and communication. The company offers medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, and a bonus program.
