Maintenance Supervisor

Maintenance Supervisor roles at established Western portfolio operators tend to carry real weight. You're not just keeping lights on and fixing disposals. You're running a small department, keeping the property in condition that supports occupancy and NOI, and serving as the person residents actually call when something goes wrong at 11 PM.

What You'll Be Responsible For

At Village at Desert Lakes, you'll own the full maintenance operation: diagnosing and completing repairs across all trades, delegating work orders to your team, and making sure resident service requests move through the system efficiently. That last part matters more than people think. A slow make-ready or a stalled punch list can drag turn times, and in Las Vegas, where rental traffic is competitive, a vacant unit sitting past its ready date has a real cost. You'll also conduct regular safety meetings, keep preventive maintenance records clean, and coordinate scheduling for your crew alongside the community manager.

MG Properties has been acquiring, developing, and managing multifamily communities across the Western U.S. for more than 30 years. At this scale, they have systems in place, but they also expect their site-level supervisors to actually run the operation, not just follow a checklist.

What They're Looking For

  • At least two years of experience in a Maintenance Supervisor role
  • Hands-on background managing maintenance at a community of 150 units or more
  • Competency across all trades (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair)
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Strong customer service orientation and the ability to work within a team structure

All offers are contingent on a background check and drug screen. MG Properties participates in E-Verify and is an at-will employer. Audio recordings may occur during work duties as a condition of employment.

Compensation and Team Culture

The package includes monthly bonuses, company profit sharing, a 401(k) with employer match, and a standard suite of medical, dental, and vision coverage. PTO accrual, paid holidays, paid personal days, paid sick time, and a rental discount round out the benefits. For a W-2 maintenance role in multifamily, that's a solid structure.

One thing worth noting for candidates coming from independent or smaller operators: a company with 30-plus years in the business has institutionalized a lot of its processes. That can feel like more structure than you're used to, but it also means you're not building the wheel from scratch. The tools, vendor relationships, and training frameworks tend to already exist. Your job is to run the operation well within them.
