Maintenance Supervisor

What You'll Actually Do

This role runs the day-to-day maintenance operation at Canvas, an affordable workforce housing community managed by Avanath. You'll work directly alongside the Community Manager to keep the property in strong physical condition, manage a team of maintenance staff, and make sure residents get timely, respectful service.

Day to day, that means triaging and assigning work orders, walking the grounds to catch hazards before they become liability issues, overseeing make-ready turns, and staying on top of a preventative maintenance schedule that protects the asset long-term. You'll also manage vendor relationships, control supply inventory against budget, and hold your team accountable to quality and turnaround time. On-call and weekend availability are part of the job.

Expect to get your hands dirty alongside your crew. This position supervises, but it's not a desk job.

What You Bring

• At least 3 years of multifamily maintenance experience
• A minimum of 1 year in a supervisory capacity
• Hands-on skills across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, appliance repair, and carpentry
• HVAC certification and CPO certification are strongly preferred
• Valid driver's license
• Organized enough to track work orders, maintain accurate records, and manage inventory without things falling through the cracks
• Strong interpersonal skills, particularly with residents who are frustrated or need a patient explanation
